VIA AIRMAIL

An evening of music, sand stories and conversation
With Dr. Devin Naar, Historian

Premieres May 6, 7:30pm ET
followed by live talk-back moderated by Sara Stackhouse
Available to Stream May 6-9, 2021

Multidisciplinary composer and story-catcher Guy Mendilow combines
world-class musicianship with cinematic storytelling in shows that “explode with artistry, refinement, and excitement” (Hebrew Union College),
whisking audiences to distant times and picturesque places and conjuring personal connections with ordinary people living through extraordinary moments of change.

Via Airmail weaves a tapestry of real-world stories told through the spoken word, music, and sand animation.  The tales' relevance is unpacked through conversation between Mendilow and historian Devin Naar about Ottoman Sephardi history, how this history may inform present dilemmas, and the courage to be fully human when humanity is least expected.
